Ensemble VENIA

VENIA is a Celtic word for Vienna and the name of an ensemble founded as a women’s orchestra in 1996.

Originally, the emphasis was placed on the Viennese entertainment music, mostly from the time of the Viennese operetta with a large repertoire encompassing pieces from the Strauss Dynasty, Lehar, Kalman, Offenbach, Schrammel, Lanner and Ziehrer among others.

Even so, VENIA quickly diversified to acquire the flexibility that has become the base of its popularity. With interesting programs and orchestration ranging from duo (violin and piano) to chamber orchestra, the ensemble can accommodate differing demands: dinners, balls, private parties, marriages, chamber music, New Year’s concerts, conferences, congresses, etc.

Our newest addition is the Crossover Quartet – founded by members of the ensemble. Passion, exotic, tango magic… Diverting arrangements pieces of famous composers (including Mozart and Kreisler), enriched with Argentinean tango or oriental rhythms and performed with flair and virtuosity.

From the fall of 2014, many new projects are in the works with our conductor Pablo Boggiano. including a series of concerts in Austria with the chamber orchestra (26 musicians) or even with a symphony orchestration (45 musicians).
