Bernhard Melbye Voss






The conductor and pianist, Bernhard Melbye Voss was born in Odense, Denmark, and started his musical education studying french horn and piano at "Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium" in Aarhus, Denmark. After finishing his horn education at the "Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien", Vienna, and his piano education at the "Anton Bruckner Universität", Linz, he is currently studying conducting with Prof. Mark Stringer at the "Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien". He has conducted severel professional orchestras and participated in conducting master classes with Jorma Panula, Kenneth Kiesler and Klaus Arp. Beside his conducting activities he is a very active pianist in different chamber music formations, and as a horn player he has assisted in many Danish and Austrian orchestras. As a pianist he has won severel prizes at piano and chamber music competitions. He has received grants from Wilhelm Hansen Fonden, Augustinus Fonden and Tytte og Lillemor Faurschou's Mindelegat.
