Stefan Pelzl






Born 1955 into a musical family. Piano lessons at the age of ten, change to transverse flute at the age of fifteen, including classical education. Since the age of nineteen, mainly self-educated saxophone studies besides participations at numerous workshops. Orientation towards Jazz. Since then, activities in various Jazz ensembles, partly under his own name (e.g. "Stefan Pelzl´s JUJU") as instrumentalist, composer and arranger.

Besides countless concerts, appearances at various international Jazz Festivals such Saalfelden, Wiesen, Raab, Steyr, Sibiu (Romania), and Innsbruck (Kunstschiene 3, 2007), as well as performances at the "Donaufestival" and the "Donauinselfest". Highest award and title of "best soloist" at the "2nd Lower Austria Jazz Contest" 1988. Various cooperations with the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation ORF (studio productions, live recordings, concerts at the Radiokulturhaus Wien and the ORF-Studio Tirol).

Musical cooperations with Florian Bramböck, Klaus Hofer, Gernot Wolfgang, Heinz Cabas, Leo Wright, Ingrid Jensen, Joris Dudli, Karl Sayer, Klaus Göhr, Andy Bartosh, Franz Hautzinger, Thomas Gansch, Lorenz Raab, Idris Muhammad, Robert Schönherr and Wiener Kammersymphonie.
